Jeff has experience with succession planning, such as the transition of control of family-owned businesses and providing an inheritance in a manner that fosters the ambition of heirs and protects children's inherited wealth from themselves and others. He has extensive experience working with entrepreneurs in the real estate industry, which includes structuring tax advantaged wealth transfers as well as succession planning for the ownership and management of real estate companies.
Advisor To Fiduciaries And Charitable Foundations
Having successfully guided numerous fiduciary clients through all aspects of the administration of multi-million dollar trusts and estates, Jeff is also efficient in preparing numerous estate tax returns and counseling his clients through numerous gift and estate tax audits. Jeff has significant experience with creating and advising charitable foundations and is knowledgeable about property tax issues relevant to fiduciary clients.
Trusts And Estate Litigator
Jeff also handles trust and estate-related disputes, including post-death disputes between beneficiaries and/or family members and relating to family-controlled entities. In particular, he has successfully defended against a multi-million dollar trust contest concerning alleged lack of testamentary capacity and undue influence by obtaining summary judgment in favor of his client, which led to the settlement of a related elder abuse action on favorable terms.
