Corin Korenaga is a leading transactional attorney who focuses on complex acquisitions, dispositions, space leasing, ground leasing, mergers and acquisitions, and joint venture deals across several real estate product types.

Corin represents real estate owners, developers, and investors, as well as landlords and tenants of office, residential, industrial, retail, and medical office properties.

Corin’s extensive experience and industry knowledge allow him to strategically and efficiently structure, negotiate, document, and close transactions, all while paying close attention to clients' business objectives. 

Homebuilder Representation

Corin has particular expertise in representing homebuilders in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, development, and joint ventures and has a deep knowledge of the homebuilding market, including industry practices, regulations, and common challenges faced by homebuilders during mergers and acquisitions. With more than two decades of experience, he represents both public and private homebuilder buyers and sellers in transactions throughout the US. Over the course of his career, he has overseen more than $2 billion in homebuilder merger and acquisition transactions.

Corin is highly regarded by his clients for his forward-thinking advice and ability to effectively guide clients through deal risks and pitfalls both before and after closing. He advises clients in negotiating the terms of a deal, drafting letters of intent, purchase agreements, employment agreements, non-competition agreements, and other ancillary documents.

Corin’s broad real estate transactional experience, coupled with his knowledge of the homebuilding and real estate industries, provides him with a truly holistic view of the transaction and ability to mind details without losing sight of the larger deal.

Landlord Representation

Corin represents landlords in office and industrial leasing, property management, and operational matters and disputes, and assists commercial clients with acquisitions and dispositions and development transactions. He currently advises clients on more than one million square feet of office and industrial leases nationwide a year.

Ground Leasing

Corin also represents landlords and tenants in negotiating and drafting complex ground leases for industrial, retail, office, residential, and medical office properties across the nation. Corin is adept at negotiating and drafting ground lease agreements from the point of view of both the landlord and the tenant. He also provides strategic counsel as to the complex relationships among interest holders and the complicated issues that arise in connection with ground leases.

Represented Biscayne Homes in its disposition of business assets in Florida to DRB Homes.

Represented Southern Impression Homes (a private build-to-rent residential developer) in its Florida business disposition to Gehan Homes and roll-over of equity into the buyer entity.

Represented Shea Homes in North Carolina in its disposition of business assets in North Carolina to Empire Communities and roll-over of equity into the buyer entity.

Represented Hanover Homes in its disposition of business assets in Florida to Landsea Homes.

Represented American West Homes in its disposition of business assets in Las Vegas, NV to Pulte Homes.

Represented a private residential developer with its disposition of business assets in Texas.

Represented a major public residential developer with its acquisition of assets from private residential developers in Texas, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Represented a regional landlord in connection with office, retail and industrial projects in Northern and Southern California.

Represented the buyer of the Playboy Mansion in what was, at the time, the largest residential sales transaction in Los Angeles County history.

Represented a state pension fund in $500+ million recapitalization and merger deal with a national multifamily developer.

Represented a foreign investor in acquiring the REIT interests of an entity owning an office project located in Mountain View, CA, with a global tech company as the sole tenant.

Represented a major private residential developer in connection with the development and disposition of a 900+ unit mixed-use development in Napa, CA.
