Overview

Daniel is a transactional and litigation attorney who focuses on land use law.

Daniel specializes in matters involving land use, zoning, entitlements, and environmental permitting for complex projects. He negotiates and obtains land use entitlements and other government approvals in California—conducting land use-related due diligence, engaging directly with governmental agencies, supervising the preparation of environmental documents, and advising clients on cutting-edge strategies to make use of constantly changing state laws related to development. He represents clients on a wide range of real estate projects, including residential, office, industrial and data centers, commercial, and mixed-use.

Prior to joining Cox Castle, Daniel’s extensive experience included litigating motions and trials in California courts to address complex issues, such as business ownership disputes and nuanced interpretations of state law. His background also includes developing business plans for ground-up real estate developments, conducting due diligence for private equity real estate transactions, and formulating growth strategies for various real estate companies as a member of McKinsey & Company’s private equity practice.
