The Legal Team Condotel Developers Are Thanking
Cox, Castle & Nicholson attorneys Rick Kranz, Lynn Galuppo, Dwayne McKenzie and Karen Gold were interviewed by Law 360’s Natalie Rodriguez and quoted in her article "The Legal Team Condotel Developers Are Thanking," published April 25, 2014.
Rodriguez reported that Cox Castle’s succeeded in obtaining “several key dismissals and judgments for San Diego Hard Rock hotel operator Tarsadia Hotel – notably a Ninth Circuit victory finding, in a published opinion, that the sale of condominium units was not the sale of security. The U.S. Supreme Court in February refused to review the Ninth Circuit ruling thus providing developers with a potential safe harbor for condominium hotel sales and sales of other fractional units.
The Law360 article credited “good experience in high-stakes litigation,” a capacity to handle “millions of pages of documents” and an ability to “force plaintiffs into articulating their claims.”
