Awarded the CRE® Credential from

The Counselors of Real Estate®

Los Angeles, CA—November 29, 2017:

David Waite, Partner, Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP of Los Angeles, has been awarded the CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) credential by The Counselors of Real Estate, an international group of distinguished real estate practitioners who provide expert advisory services to clients on complex real property and land use related matters.  The accreditation was awarded earlier this fall at the Counselors’ 2017 Annual Convention in Montréal.

David is a senior partner at Cox Castle with over twenty-five years of real estate, land use and environmental law experience. His practice focuses on CEQA, climate change, development agreements, discretionary permits and entitlements, infrastructure agreements, public-private partnerships, subdivisions, zoning, environmental regulatory compliance, CERCLA, RCRA, and Proposition 65.  He regularly appears before planning commissions, city councils, and other federal, state, and local government agencies on land use and regulatory matters.  David has litigated to final judgment numerous environmental and land use disputes and represented a variety of developers, lenders and institutional investors on the environmental and land use aspects of workouts, debt restructurings, and foreclosures. David advises clients on transactional and regulatory matters involving Brownfields and other environmentally impaired real property.

Membership in The Counselors of Real Estate is selective and is extended by invitation only, attesting to the practitioner’s expertise and proven competence in his or her chosen area of real estate. Members receive the CRE credential in recognition of proven superior problem-solving ability.  Counselors are recognized in the marketplace as having consistently demonstrated the highest levels of knowledge, experience, integrity, and judgment. Fewer than 1100 real estate professionals currently hold the CRE credential.

The Counselors of Real Estate, established in 1953 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is an international professional organization whose members provide objective, reliable advice and counsel on matters affecting all forms of real property in the United States and abroad. Members include ranking representatives of real estate consulting, financial, legal and accounting firms as well as leaders of Wall Street, government and academia.
