Los Angeles County Bar Association To Honor Cox, Castle & Nicholson's Dennis Wu

Los Angeles – (June 7, 2016)Cox, Castle & Nicholson senior associate Dennis Wu will be awarded Los Angeles County Bar Association’s (LACBA’s) Real Property Section’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award at the 18th Annual LACBA Real Property Section Installation and Awards Dinner at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City on June 8, 2016. Each year, LACBA’s Real Property Section presents the award to individuals who exhibit professional excellence, service to the profession and the bar, service to the community, and a reputation for the advancement of legal ethics and professional responsibility.

“Dennis is a natural and excels in all aspects of his practice,” said Gary Glick, partner and head of the Retail Development Practice Group of Cox, Castle & Nicholson. “Dennis is a leader, is active in numerous groups outside of the firm and operates at a level in excess of his years of experience.”

Recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers for four years in a row, Wu is a leading transactional real estate attorney with extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including commercial leasing, and real property acquisitions, dispositions and development. Dennis has worked with a wide variety of clients, including developers, real estate investment groups, commercial and residential landlords and tenants, individual investors, and property management companies.

“I am thankful to work at a firm that continues to encourage active participation in our industry and giving back to the community,” said Wu. “I have learned through the years that cultivating relationships, whether with clients, peers or community members, is truly the life-blood of our profession.”

Wu’s additional contributions to the law community have included serving on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County (APABA) for 8 years, holding titles of president, treasurer, and secretary. During his tenure on the APABA board, Wu has led various pro bono community events and has also served as co-chair of the community service and outreach committee.  Wu has also been a member of various other organizations during his career, including, the Korean American Bar Association, Orange County Asian American Bar Association, Long Beach Bar Association and the  Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Wu received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College and his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He is a firm believer in the importance of education and mentorship, serving as a mentor for Cox, Castle & Nicholson’s summer associates program as well as a member of the firm’s skills development and diversity committees.

LACBA will also present the Ira Yellin Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Cox, Castle & Nicholson’s founding partner, Phillip Nicholson. Rarely given, the award is presented posthumously to Nicholson to recognize his tremendous dedication to the real estate industry and the community.
