Firm Nabs Prominent Development Lawyer

On April 23, 2012, the Daily Journal published a story about well-known development lawyer Tim Paone joining Cox Castle & Nicholson as part of a move to expand the land use and real estate practice in its Orange County office.

According to the article, Paone was most recently the chair of Theodora Oringher's real estate and land use practice and is known for securing entitlements that have allowed a number of big projects to move forward including a 2,000-home development in Lake Forest called Baker Ranch. Paone also helped developers renovate Villa Venetia, a 250-unit apartment complex in Marina del Rey, and get approval for their project.

Paone told the Daily Journal he joined Cox Castle because "it is one of the top real estate law firms in the state."

"I want to be part of the firm's growth in Orange County," he said.

David Wensley, managing partner in Cox Castle's Orange County office, said hiring Paone advances the firm's goal of replicating “the presence and reputation of our other offices in Century City and San Francisco."

"Tim and I have known each other for many years, and I consider him to be an extremely talented and highly regarded land use lawyer,” he said.
